Let the City help you save time and $$$

Listed below are the City of Lompoc programs that can help you reduce your utility bill. Remember that your sewer rates are based on your water usage for the months of January, February and March. This is a good time to check your irrigation system to make sure you are not watering your lawn during our rainy season and to retrofit old toilets to water saving 1.6 gallon per flush toilets.

For more information about these energy and water saving programs, click on the program below and provide your name and mailing address to process your request. Remember, the old appliance MUST BE IN WORKING ORDER and it MUST BE INSPECTED by CITY STAFF before it is taken out of service.

  • To encourage Lompoc City Electric customers to install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and to make the system more affordable for the customer, the City offers rebates for systems that meet all criteria as defined by Lompoc City Electric interconnection agreement for self-generating electric systems and the requirements set forth by the California Energy Commission.

  • Solar PV Rebate amount: $3.50 per watt but not to exceed ½ the cost of a system or a maximum or $50,000.For more information please call 875-8298 or click here for a Solar PV Information Request form in pdf format.   • Electric Rate Assistance Program: if your total annual household income is below the following level, you may be eligible to receive an $8.00 monthly credit on your electric bill. One person below $43,600, two people below $49,800, three people below $56.050.

  • Toilet Replacement Rebates: the City will rebate up to $130 per toilet to change old 3.5+ gallon per flush toilet to 1.6 gallon per flush toilets. Only approved toilets qualify for a rebate.

    LIST OF APPROVED TOILETS

  • Refrigerator Replacement Rebate: if your old full-size refrigerator is in working order, manufactured before 1992, and you will allow it to be properly disposed of at the City landfill, the City will rebate $120 paid as a $10 a month credit on your utility bill.

  • Income Qualifying Refrigerator Replacement Program: if your household qualifies for the Electric Rate Assistance Program and your refrigerator is in working order and manufactured before 1992, the City will purchase a new refrigerator costing up to $570 and you will pay the City back $20 a month for one year.

  • Refrigerator Buy-Back Program: the City will give you $35 and provide free pick-up and disposal at the landfill for any working refrigerator being used in your home.

  • Electric Dryer and Water Heater Conversion Rebate: if you are currently drying clothes with an electric dryer or heating with an electric water heater, the City will rebate you $100 to convert to gas appliances.

  • Customer Home Energy Use Survey: the City now offers an online energy survey.

  • Clothes Washer Rebate: if you replace your washing machine with an Energy Star model, the City will rebate $120 paid as a $10 per month credit on your utility bill.

  • Dishwasher: replace your pre-1994 dishwasher with an Energy Star model and the City will rebate $50 paid as a $10 per month credit on you utility bill.

  • LED Holiday Lights: Save up to 90% of the cost to operate decorative holiday lighting with LED light strands. The City will rebate $4 for up to a 70 light strand or $8 for a 70+ light strand

Commercial Customers

  • Lighting Rebates: Save up to 30% on the cost to operate the lights in your place of business. The City will rebate $15.00 per ballast to a small user and $10.00 to a large user to replace incandescent or old electromagnetic/T12 fixtures with electronic ballasts operating T-8 lamps.

  • Exit Signs: the City will provide a rebate to replace incandescent or fluorescent exit signs with LED or electroluminescent signs.
